Cooperation between Great Britain and Armenian Law Authorities is Getting Deeper

The RA National Security Service Director Arthur Vanetsyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia Judith Margaret Farnworth.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Director expressed hope that within the cognitive visit the cooperation between the system and the Embassy will be strengthened for the benefit of the two countries.
Recurring to the recent situation and changes in Armenia, A.Vanetsyan noted that the fight against corruption is a priority for the new government and there are already arrests carried out as a result of the lead works.
Ambassador Farnworth thanked for the warm welcome and noted that in Great Britain they are following the developments in Armenia and are ready to support Armenia in the process of implementing the current reforms, establishing democracy and the rule of law. The Ambassador welcomed also the reforms in the country and emphasized that it is important for any country to have fair approach to the justice system.

At the end of the meeting the two sides expressed readiness to deepen the cooperation between the law authorities of both countries in combating terrorism, illegal migration, drug trafficking and illegal turnover of weapons.
