NSS Symbol

The symbol of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia is an eagle holding a sword and a shield. The eagle symbolizes power, alertness and will, the sword - justice, punishment and judgment, and the shield - a tool ensuring the protection of statehood.

Award Pin «Honorary Officer of Security Agencies»

The highest award of the NSS of RA which is awarded to the officers who fairly served in the RA national security agencies for 15 and more years for:
- concrete results achieved during operational-intelligence activities, excellent fulfillment of operative tasks and the performed initiative and perseverance;
- success achieved in military combat readiness, education and training of the staff, strengthening military and official discipline;
- services in strengthening the cooperation between the RA national security agencies and security agencies of the partner states.

Award Pin «For Merit in Ensuring Security of RA»

is awarded to:
- officers and warrant officers of the RA national security agencies, the RA Armed Forces and the Police, representatives of the RA legislative, executive and judicial authorities for contribution to ensuring the national security of RA and protection of the borders of the Republic of Armenia, technical re-equipment of the national security agencies, military combat training and military-patriotic education of the staff;
- citizens of RA and foreign states for assistance to the national security agencies in addressing national security objectives.

Award Pin «For Service in Intelligence»

is awarded to:
- officers of the RA national security agencies who served, as a rule, for 10 years in intelligence and made their contribution to achieving significant results in intelligence activities, establishing the network of operational sources, obtaining intelligence, preparing young staff for intelligence activities abroad;
- officers of the RA national security agencies for contribution to establishing and strengthening the intelligence body of the NSS of RA, as well as for the rendered assistance;
- representatives of the foreign special services for contribution to training qualified intelligence staff for the RA national security agencies, conducting joint activities for intelligence purposes, as well as joint activities aimed at combating international crimes.

1st, 2nd AND 3rd DEGREE MEDALS FOR «IMPECCABLE SERVICE»

1st, 2nd and 3rd degree medals for «Impeccable Service»are awarded to officers, warrant officers and servicemen under contract of the RA national security bodies, who faithfully performed their official duties and observed irreproachable military discipline.
The medal for «Impeccable Service» has three degrees, the highest degree is the 1st degree.

1st degree medal for «Impeccable Service»

1st degree medal for «Impeccable Service» is awarded to the serviceman, who served in the national security bodies for 20 years.

2nd degree medal for «Impeccable Service»

2nd degree medal for «Impeccable Service» is awarded to the serviceman, who served in the national security bodies for 15 years(Medal “For Impeccable Service” established by the Order of Director of the NSS of RA №78-A of 15 November 2004 is equivalent to the medal “For Impeccable Service” of 2nd degree).

3rd degree medal for «Impeccable Service»

3rd degree medal for «Impeccable Service» is awarded to the serviceman, who served in the national security bodies for 10 years.

Medal «For Excellent Service in the Border Guard Troops»

is awarded to:
- officers and warrant officers of the border guard troops for courage, valor, organizational skills while fulfilling official duties, as well as for services in the sphere of military battle training and military-patriotic education;
- servicemen of the NSS of RA and the armed forces for personal courage while protecting the borders of the Republic of Armenia and eliminating threats to the lives of servicemen;
- officers of the RA national security agencies for contribution to establishing and strengthening the border guard troops of the NSS of RA;
- citizens of the Republic of Armenia and foreigners for rendering assistance to the border guard troops in organizing and strengthening protection of the state border.

Medal «For Combat Cooperation»

is awarded to:
- servicemen of the RA armed forces and officers of the police for services rendered in addressing the challenges related to the national security of RA;
- representatives of the special services of foreign states for contribution to enhancing effectiveness of the joint fight against international crimes, training and retraining qualified staff of the RA national security agencies, conducting joint special activities for security purposes.

«Veteran of Security Agencies» Medal

The Medal «Veteran of Security Agencies» is awarded to officers, warrant officers, contract servicemen and veterans of the national security agencies of RA who, during their military service, faithfully performed their official duties, observed irreproachable military discipline and served in the national security agencies for 25 and more calendar years.

Medal «Veteran of State Protection Service»

«Veteran of State Protection Service» medal is awarded to people, who faithfully performed their official duties during their military service in the sphere of State Protection, had excellent rate in combat readiness, observed irreproachable military discipline, have contributed to the service and combat readiness of the staff and have served in State Protection system for 25 and more years, as well as had been encouraged prior to being recommended for award. In some exceptional cases, “Veteran of State Protection Service” medal can be awarded to people, who are considered to be veterans of National Security Service for having significant contribution to the formation, establishment and development of the State Protection Service in the manner prescribed by law.
The medal can be also awarded to the officers and veterans of National Security Service, State Administration System and other authorities, as well as of state authorities of foreign countries for their contribution and assistance in the establishment and strengthening of State Protection Service.

Anniversary Medal «100th Anniversary of Security Bodies»

Anniversary Medal
«100th Anniversary of Security Bodies» medal can be awarded to the officers, who occupied the position of chief of unit and above or positions equal to them, to the officers of the national security bodies, who occupied senior and middle-ranking positions and had 10 and more years of military service, to the warrant officers, veterans and former officers of the national security bodies, who occupied low-ranking positions in the national security bodies and had 15 and more years of military service, for contribution to the establishment and strengthening of service, to the civilian workers of the national security bodies, the citizens of the Republic of Armenia for assistance in addressing national security objectives, former officers of national security bodies, who transferred to other state bodies, as well as to officers of other state bodies for contribution to the establishment and strengthening of service, to the representatives of foreign special services and foreign citizens for fruitful collaboration.

Award Pin «For Excellent Service»

is awarded to:
- enlisted servicemen of the NSS of RA who, during their compulsory military service, demonstrated courage and valor while protecting the RA borders and conducting special military operations, as well as excellent progress in military combat training.
