The RA National Security Service informs that the news disseminated in the mass media and social platforms that allegedly in the event of a possible transit movement by road through the territory of RA from the Republic of Azerbaijan towards the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic and in the opposite direction during transit, the roads of RA, local and of international importance, will be closed, which will hinder the free movement of the residents of Armenia, does not correspond to reality.
We inform that the draft of the Government Decree “On Making Additions to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated 12 May, 2011 N 703-N”, put into circulation by the RA National Security Service, provides for the opening of 3 new checkpoints through which vehicles from the Republic of Azerbaijan will be able to move in transit to the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
Currently, transit possible (road) routes and procedures are being developed, which do not provide for the closure of any roads of local and / or international (interstate) significance and / or restriction on the movement of the population of Armenia, as well as foreign citizens and vehicles belonging to the latter.
