Cases of Humiliating National Dignity in Field of View of RA National Security Service
Interviews given by producer Armen Grigoryan given at “Hayeli” club and other places were published on the Internet and the media, during which the latter, ignoring the principle of inviolability of human dignity stipulated in the RA Constitution, publicly humiliating the national dignity of the population of Shirak and Ararat Plain and far-fetched ideas casting doubt on their ethnic origin.
Within the framework of the criminal case initiated in the Investigation Department of the RA National Security Service on the fact of public humiliation of national dignity, Armen Grigoryan was detained for committing a crime under Article 226, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, at the same time motions were filed to the court by the investigator to apply arrest as a measure of restraint against the latter.
The National Security Service warns that within the scope of the powers vested upon it, it will continue to be consistent in neutralizing similar manifestations aimed at humiliating national dignity, inciting ethnic hatred, and will take appropriate measures in the direction of detecting cases of crimes committed and bringing the perpetrators to criminal liability, at the same time informs that for the mentioned criminal act the RA Criminal Code provides for imprisonment for a term of 3 to 6 years.
Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
