National Security Bodies Detected and Prevented Another Case of Abuses in Field of Subsoil Use As a Result of Which State Suffered Damage on Especially Large Scale

Based on the results of the coordinated operative-search work of the officers of the Armavir Regional Department of the RA National Security Service, factual data were obtained that the director of the company, engaged in entrepreneurial activities, violating the requirements of a number of legal acts on land use and subsoil use, mining, during June-October, 2021 on the territory of Arevik community, Armavir province, without an appropriate license and other documents for subsoil use, carried out illegal mining of subsoil, as a result of which about 100,000 m3 of sand and gravel mixture was illegally extracted. As a result of the implementation of illegal entrepreneurship, various taxes and other obligatory payments in especially large amounts - 152.560.000 AMD were not paid to the state.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigation Department of the RA National Security Service based on relevant articles of the RA Criminal Code, the preliminary investigation continues.

We inform that the National Security Bodies are purposefully fighting in the direction of detecting various lawlessness that destroy the economic foundations of the state, preventing their further spread, as well as neutralizing threats to economic security.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
