Fight against Fraud in Financial and Credit Sphere Using IT in Spotlight of RA NSS
Within the framework of ensuring information security and combating crime, the RA National Security Service constantly keeps the sphere of information technologies in the spotlight in order to identify possible manifestations of abuse, prevent their spread and eradicate them.
One of the most important missions of the activities of the National Security Bodies is not only the detection and prevention of this type of socially dangerous acts, but also the early warning of the implementation of criminal intentions, the disruption of the further development of illegal behavior and the neutralization of impending negative consequences, and for this purpose, the structure with its various tools helps to increase the level of public awareness.
It is noteworthy that individuals and criminal groups operating in the mentioned field, using various innovative tools and means of the IT sphere, mainly target the middle and older generation, the socially insecure and vulnerable class, taking advantage of the low level of awareness of the latter in the field of IT.
It is not a secret that information about services provided by credit and financial institutions under various names has become widespread on the Internet, advertising about which is mainly distributed through social networks, in particular through “Facebook”.
Among the variety of these organizations, there are also those that, in order to steal money from citizens, offer “favorable” conditions. The latter, agreeing to the proposed “favorable” conditions, provide their personal data to strangers via the Internet and make money transfers they require to the “Idram”, “QIWI” and other payment and settlement wallets, as a result of which they become victims of fraud.
