As a result of operative-search measures of the RA National Security Service it was established that A. H., holding the position of a leading specialist of the security department of “Armavir” penitentiary institution of the RA Ministry of Justice, holding the special rank of Captain of Justice, constantly exercising the functions of a government representative , for  an obviously illegal act, he accepted the offer from the convict of “Armavir” penitentiary institution of the RA Ministry of Justice to give him bribe and received it.

In particular, an official A. H., being authorized to exercise, among other powers, supervision over the conduct of searches of persons, and the examination of deliveries, parcels, personal belongings, in March, 2021, accepted the proposal on an obviously illegal act made to him by convicted A.N. to bring to the penitentiary institution items prohibited by the internal regulations of places of detention and correctional institutions and to hand them over to A.N., having agreed that the amount of the bribe and prohibited items will be given to him by A.N.

Carrying out his criminal intention, A. H. on 18 March, 2021, at around 20:30, in his house in Yerevan, received from A. N.’s son the amount of the bribe, as well as the prohibited items handed over to the convict, however, he was caught by the officers of the RA National Security Service and was detained.

During a personal search at A.H., the prohibited items of the bribe were found, and the amount of the bribe was found as a result of a search conducted in the latter’s house.

The RA National Security Service once again calls on to refrain from corruption manifestations and warns that it fully handles the operational situation and by applying the full toolkit established by law will take all the measures in the direction of detecting the corruption phenomena in various spheres of the public service and initiate criminal prosecutions against the persons involved in them.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
