The National Security Service of RA, due to its functional mission, on 26 February 2020 immediately detected the ones who made a hoax call about planting a bomb at “Zvartnots” airport. Three minor pupils of one of the schools of Yerevan, not taking seriously the dangerousness of their actions for the public and possible consequences as well, called from the nearest public pay telephone to the employee of the loan company the number of which had been written on the billboard. They told this employee that they were at “Zvatnots” airport and that they wanted to decide where to plant the bomb they had with them. The employee of the loan company reacted quickly and called to the law enforcement bodies. Then, the officers of the RA NSS immediately started the works to check the credibility of the alarm, to eliminate possible threats and took relevant operative-search measures as a result of which they got the full image of minors’ activities.

The persons having committed an alleged crime were found and handed over to the Police of RA. A criminal case has been initiated in connection with the case.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his/her guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.

The NSS of RA consistently fights against all the manifestations of national security threats, calls on and urges the public to refrain from showing a behavior which has such adventurous, illegal and publicly dangerous consequences.
