The National Security Service of the RA among other functions, supporting the military command on maintaining combat readiness and the fighting capacity of the RA Armed Forces, as a result of the undertaken operative and search measures and investigation activities undertaken within the frame of authorities vested upon it by law, received a factual information that a group of servicemen of № military unit of the RA MoD, with the use of official authority and prior agreement, in the period July to December 2019 embezzled and sold aviation fuel 85 tons trusted to them in especially large amount, which was provided for implementation of the planned training flights of the military unit costing about 40mln AMD.

While taking out 640 liters of aviation fuel from the territory of the military unit and passing it to a buyer under the control of the operational units of the RA NSS, their criminal action was prevented by officers of the RA NSS, the individuals who have committed the crime were caught in the act and confessed the crime they committed.

A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigation Department of the NSS of the RA on the fact of an apparent crime on the basis of the corresponding article of the Criminal Code of the RA which was referred to the Investigation Committee of the RA for examination in accordance with investigation subordination.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his/her guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of the RA-by the court decision entered into legal force.
