National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, pursuing consistent implementation of the functions vested upon it by the law and aimed at combating crime, as a result of the undertaken operational and search measures and investigative activities detected a case of abuse of the authority by the officials of Municipality of Gyumri, Shirak Marz.

As a result of the undertaken operational and search measures, it was found that during 2006-2011 the officials of Municipality of Gyumri while abusing power against service benefit for personal interest, have alienated the lands by sale or auction in several addresses of town of Gyumri, which, according to Article 60 of Land Code, the citizens and legal entities are forbidden to use their property rights for transferring state and community owned lands, and lands of general use.

According to the corresponding article of the Criminal Code of RA, criminal case was initiated in the Investigation Department of RA NSS on the fact of an apparent crime.

Preliminary investigation is going on.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA-by the court decision entered into legal force.
