Officers of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of large-scale operational and search measures undertaken within the framework of the implementation of functions to fight against corruption, on  December 4, 2019 the Deputy Minister of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport was brought in, on suspicion of receiving in especially large amount bribe, as well as his driver and the director of one of the acting football clubs in RA who is, at the same time also de facto leader of a number of supplying company.

According to the preliminary data, Deputy Director of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport supporting the above mentioned economic entity in announced tenders, in purpose to obtain sports equipment and clothes for the needs of the bodies under the Ministry, in return for, with the help of the driver, he has reached agreement to get especially large amount of sum bribe.

 Immediately, after the transferring a part of the sum to the driver of Deputy Minister by economic entity, they were caught.

Prepared materials on the fact of apparent crime have been transferred to the Investigation Department of the RA NSS.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
