Farewell ceremony of the Armenian legendary intelligence officer Gohar Vardanyan was held today in Moscow. Armenian legendary intelligence officer Gohar Vardanyan was buried at the Troekurovo cemetery. Interim director RA NSS Eduard Martirosyan visited Moscow to participate at the farewell ceremony of Gohar Vardanyan. Gohar Vardanyan died on November 25 at the age of 93.
Gohar Levon Vardanyan was born in January 25, 1926 in Leninakan. In 1930 her family moved to Iran. At the age of 16, she became a member of the spy group of his future husband and colleague Gevorg Vardanyan, with whom implemented numerous intelligence operations.
In 1946 Gohar married with Gevorg Vardanyan. The wedding ceremony took place in Armenian church of Tehran.
In 1951 at the request of Vardanyans, they were given the opportunity to receive higher education and the same year they returned to the USSR. In 1956 Vardanyans graduated Foreign Languages Institute of Yerevan and after that they worked with operative nicknames <<Anita>> and <<Anri>> in different countries.
