The National Security Service of RA, as a result of operational and search measures and investigation activities undertaken within the framework of implementation of its functions to fight corruption, detected a case of embezzlement in an especially large amount in the procurement process for the RA Ministry of Defence needs.

According to the obtained preliminary data, the officials of the RA Ministry of Defence, making a criminal conspiracy with supplier organization, concluded a supply contract at an inflated price, on the basis of which the company was transferred 21 million 700 thousand AMD more instead of the fair market value of the goods, as a result of which the said large amount of money was wasted.

In the Investigation Department of the NSS of RA, a criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the apparent crime, according to corresponding articles of the Criminal Code of RA.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
