Officers of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of undertaken large-scale operational and search measures and investigation activities, detected organization of a case of a number of conscripts evading compulsory military service in exchange for receiving a bribe.

According to the obtained preliminary data, the RA citizen, being aware of the subtleties of the works of the military commissariat and Central Military-Medical Committee, and using his connections among the doctors, making preliminary agreement with the official of the medical facility, during the 2019 summer draft, in exchange for 3000-8000 USD bribe, organized the process of exempting  5 conscripts from military service or providing determents to them based on false diagnoses of incompatible with military service health problems.

In the Investigation Department of the NSS of RA a criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the apparent crime according to corresponding articles of the Criminal Code of RA.

The preliminary investigation is being conducted. Charges have been brought against 2 persons.   

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
